What to wear
Although there’s no mandatory dress code, an elegant attire is recommended (dark suit for men, dress/elegant jumpsuit/twinset for women). Should you like to match the color palette we chose for the event, you can find it here (but there is no obligation).
In May, Oltrepo’ Pavese enjoys mild, pleasant spring weather. Days are typically warm, with temperatures around 20–23 °C, while evenings can feel cooler, making light layers ideal. Keep that in mind when planning your outfit.

Food and Drinks
The cuisine of Oltrepò Pavese is rich, welcoming, and shaped by the meeting point of three culinary traditions: the hearty flavours of Emilia-Romagna, the refined touches of Piedmont, and the rustic soul of Lombardy. Traditional meals often begin with handmade pasta such as tortelli di ricotta ed erbette (ricotta and herb–filled pasta), the rustic pisarei e fasö (small gnocchetti with bean sauce), or ravioli al brasato (pasta parcels filled with slow-braised meat). Among the local specialties are slow-cooked dishes like brasato al Bonarda (beef braised in Bonarda wine) and the celebrated Salame di Varzi DOP (air-cured salami). Cheeses from mountain dairies—such as robiola (soft fresh cheese), taleggio (creamy washed-rind cheese), and local goat varieties—often accompany the meal. For dessert, traditional torta di mandorle (almond cake), torta del Paradiso (buttery sponge cake), and homemade crostate (fruit tarts) reflect the area’s warm, home-baked tradition. All of these flavours pair beautifully with the region’s renowned wines, from Bonarda and Barbera to elegant Pinot Nero and the area’s excellent spumante metodo classico (traditional-method sparkling wine).
